The Shows

Our Theater Camp is dedicated to the creation, production and performance of musical theater. Our productions are specifically designed for the energy, attention span, and skills of elementary and middle school students, and are adapted for pre- and adolescent voices. Running 60-70 minutes, our shows are abridged but long enough to tell a complete story through script, song and dance. Each session focuses on a complete production.

SESSION 1: June 9 - July 3, 2025

Freaky Friday One-Act Edition

Ages 7-14

When an uber-organized mother and her spontaneous teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right. Masquerading as each other, they must work together to solve the mystery of how to break the spell. By spending a day in each other's shoes, Katherine and Ellie come to appreciate one another in a way they never could have imagined. In the end, both learn the true power of love and the strength of the bond between a mother and daughter in this heartfelt and hilarious adaptation.

Based on the beloved 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films, Freaky Friday features a book by Bridget Carpenter - the co-executive producer and writer on the beloved TV hits, Friday Night Lights and Parenthood - and music and lyrics by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey - the Pulitzer Prize-winning composers of Next to Normal.

SESSION 2: July 7 - August 1, 2025

Cinderella Youth Edition

Ages 7-14

The timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale is reborn with the Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm and elegance. With a wicked stepmother and two jealous stepsisters who keep her enslaved and in rags, Cinderella stands no chance of attending the royal ball. When her fairy godmother appears and magically transforms her reality into a dream come true, Cinderella enchants the handsome Prince Charming at the ball, but must face the wrath of her enraged stepmother and sisters when the spell wears off at midnight.

In this specially created Youth Edition, all the beloved songs and familiar characters are present and accounted for. However, the entire script has been condensed to better suit young attention spans, and the plot has been slightly altered to highlight some important lessons for contemporary audiences.
