Red Carpet Event
Levis JCC Grand Benefactor Judy Levis Krug and Screening Committee Chair Nina Rosenzweig, and event Co-Chairs Paula Baker, Donna Ganslaw and Fran Siegel welcomed patrons to a premiere screening of Left Alone Rhapsody. Stewart Schulman’s documentary film about internationally renowned pianist John Bayless, who, at the height of his career, suffered a stroke that rendered him unable to use his right hand, was followed by John performing live, leaving everyone in the room inspired and touched. This event kicked off the 8th year of Boca Raton’s original Jewish Film Festival that featured more than 40 films.

Closing Event
Our 8th annual Festival culminated with the Closing Event, I Was Not Born a Mistake with Special Guest Speaker Yiscah Smith. Sponsored by Judy Levis Krug & Dr. Stewart Krug and Chaired by Marisa & Matthew Baker, more than 280 guests joined us for the screening of Yiscah’s inspiring story of her transition from an ultra-orthodox man to a trans woman. The screening was followed by a Q&A moderated by our Chairs. It truly was a beautiful, eye-opening and educational evening for all.
