Brian Platzer Bed-Stuy Is Burning Race, religion, class and politics are a few of the controversial issues tackled in this expertly-paced novel. Aaron, a disgraced rabbi turned Wall Street banker, his journalist girlfriend, and their infant son are among the vanguard of young white families moving into Bedford-Stuyvesant, an historically black neighborhood. After a police shooting of a preteen boy in a nearby park, a riot erupts - with Aaron and his family at its center.
